Kuserrano - Kusinerong Serrano

Hi, my name is Ryan Serrano and welcome to my little space of the internet! I’m the creator and author behind Kuserrano. This website is my humble way of sharing easy Filipino recipes that I usually prepare for my family.

I grew up from a simple and typical Filipino family where the mother is in-charge of preparing the meals and lunch of her kids at school. I remember when I was a kid, my mother taught me to be independent and cook simple foods on my own like cooking eggs and frozen foods. I am very grateful for my parents for setting a good example and now I am using it as an inspiration in raising up my own family.

Eating good food is one of my joys in life whether it is from a food cart, carinderia (food stall), a restaurant, and of course home cooked meals. This is the reason why I pushed myself to be a better cook so I can be able to eat and serve good food for myself and for my family.

My love in the kitchen started when I got married and have my own children. Cooking on a daily basis didn’t even cross my mind when I was still single. And now since we do not have a helper in the house, I have to step up and help myself to learn how to cook different dishes.

I tried starting my business back in 2020 when it was the hype of the pandemic. It was a Crispy Pata and Lechon Kawali business that I sell mostly to my family and friends. It was a very great experience but I have to stop it because of the increasing price of the pork and I can’t do work and business at the same time. Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.

How Kuserrano Started..

Kuserrano started from an idea that hit me while preparing a meal for my family. Since I have an experience in the world wide web, and I cook everyday for my family, I thought of why not use my skills and share my passion to everyone. I am very proud to say that I built this website 100% on my own and I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn skills such this.

I remember the time when I was cooking and imagined what if I create a website and a brand wherein I can share the meals that I usually prepare for my family. There are a lot of names that came out of my mind. Then all of a sudden, Kuserrano came out of nowhere. My little imagination and dream goes a long way.

I love food. Simple as that. I think everyone wants to eat tasty and delicious meals but affordable. That’s why here at Kuserrano, I will share simple and flavorful Filipino recipes that I love to cook and eat in real and everyday life. From Filipino favorites like adobo, sinigang, nilaga, kare-kare, sisig, crispy pata, tinola, pinakbet, ginisang gulay and many more!
